Happy Sinday Angelz! My favourite day of the week because we can talk fic and books.
This week I did a lot of reading. I read my first fanfic in a very long time. Back in ‘the day’ it was a WIP and I never read it. I stopped reading WIPs because I used to get them all mixed up together. Well, of course this FIC is finally finished and I read it this week and it was really good. I forgot how much I loved to immerse myself in the world of Forks and those much loved characters. I am especially fond of High School Twific probably because real life YA high school books don’t have the smut in them that is the reality of high school. So what did I read this week, find out after the YUMMP!
THE TEENAGE ANGST BRIGADE by jandco
Synopsis: (on A Different Forest) Much like the concept of canon Twilight, Bella moves to Forks and on her first day, observes Emmett, Edward, Jasper, Rosalie and Alice enter the cafeteria and gets the scoop on the beautiful people (however inaccurate) from Jessica.
In this All Human tale, the five of them have very…close…relationships with one another. (Read: there’s basically a sex pact among them.) Bella’s intrigued by them, and quickly becomes part of their inner-circle. (Read: she’s all about getting in on the pact. Or so she claims.)
Completed. Rated M
His hair stood in a hundred different directions, thick and bronze, unlike any color I’ve ever seen before. This guy had stubble that no kid in high school should ever have shadowing a strong, square jaw.
Despite the lazy smile on his face, his green eyes were dark and intense. He wore a white button down shirt, untucked and I could see a blue, raggedy looking undershirt peaking out. I noticed one side of his collar was up, he was disheveled looking, but somehow perfect at the same time.
The bronze haired guy snaked an arm around the blonde girl and said something in her ear. I wasn’t surprised they were a couple. They were the only two people who’s looks could compare to the other.
“Bella,” Jessica hissed again.
“You do not want any part of them.”
“Oh, I, I just met Alice this morning,” I mumbled, embarrassed I was caught staring.
“Alice Brandon spoke to you this morning?” Jessica asked, incredulous.
“Um, yes?” I was confused—was Alice Brandon normally a mute or something?
“Look, they’re all very pretty to look at, but, they’re freaks.”
“Freaks?” I asked. They didn’t seem like freaks; the way the cafeteria’s mood shifted when they walked in, the way people looked at them in awe—they seemed more like gods than freaks.
This week in the published reads SmutLight is Fall from Grace by Christine Zolendz. This is a complete 2 book series that combines my 2 fave loves paranormal romance and sexy times! I adored these books and was thrilled when I heard a third book would be coming out soon, Shane’s point of view. There is nothing I love more than getting the males pov!
Fall From Grace (Mad World #1) by Christine Zolendz
Synopsis: I’m finally home after struggling through my brother’s illness and death. But, home is definitely a bit different. My best friend (the only person alive now that knows my secret) has a new boyfriend; and he has a friend. Shane Maxton: bad boy, tattooed rock god, eye candy extraordinaire. He is also New York City’s most arrogant, self-serving, son of a, well, a definite one-night stand kind of a guy.
But, it doesn’t matter to me because I’ve spent my existence looking for the love of my life, my angel. And, there is nothing that Shane Maxton can do to change that.
A paranormal romance.
This week I also started reading Scotch, Gin and The New Girl and Sinful Thoughts. While I love SG&TNG, Sinful Thoughts seems to be kind of rushed but it’s very well written. I also read Pushing the Limits, which I enjoyed but felt it lacked in the UST department, its a YA.
