As many of you know by now, the first fic I ever read was a fanFUCKINGtastic PattinPorn, you may have heard of it, I Love LA by feathers_mmmm aka Alice. Well, this story was like a gateway drug for me into the world of fanfic and has long remained a HUGE favourite of mine. *sigh* I am so pleased to let you all know Alice got I Love LA published. It’s been renamed The Unidentified Red Head and despite the changes and tweaks to the title and the names we all know who it’s about *wink wink* I highly recommend reading this, it’s intelligent, sex and funny as all hell, truly a great story by any name. So in today’s spotlight, I’m featuring a high school twific. I’m not sure why but lately I find myself really drawn to this genre of fic, don’t know why but I just am. I seem to be reading a ton of them. Just a note, from now on if a story is on twilighted and fanfic.net I will be linking to the twilighted version of the story. I’m doing this to avoid a major Library revamp, which is what I’m going through right now as I figure out what’s been pulled from fanfic and where it’s gone to.

Why am I enjoying this story so much? Well, it’s extremely well written and filled with angst and mystery. There are so many twists and turns and unknowns and I love when a story makes me think of the possibilities…what could be happening, where is this going? I’m also enjoying the fact that we have UST AND Lemony goodness, because sometimes I just DON’T want to wait 20 chapters for a lil Bump n’ Grind, ifyaknowwhatimsayinandithinkyado!

I was at Walmart last night at midnight to get mine, Just finished watching all the extra special features, and was beside myself when I realized there are NO DELETED SCENES!!!! WTF? I guess I just didn’t read the info very closely. I assumed there would be deleted scenes. There was some great stuff on the special features. I love the Edward fast forward feature, where you can watch only the part of the movie that have Edward. The Eclipse stuff was great too. I was just so disappointed about no deleted scenes. Guess I might have to go buy the Target version too.

Weird, i pre-ordered mine from target too, and got mine on Saturday morning in the mail. Had it shipped via USPS ground.
The only parts I noiced may be different from the other editions is that there is no Eclips sneak-peak and some featuretts may not be on it that I’ve seen posted elsewhere online. I may have missed them, but I’ve been through all thre discs several times sooo….

Edward chuckled lightly, while pulling me up close enough that our faces were now within inches of one another. He tenderly pushed my hair back on either side of my face with both of his hands, weaving his fingers into it gently.
He spoke softly in a slightly husky voice while holding my gaze intently.
It was definitely hot-as-hell.
“Bella, are you asking me why I didn’t f**k you?”
I needed to catch my breath and clear my head.
His voice — the way he said f**k.
I could feel my nipples harden as I shamelessly pressed them into his firm, chiseled chest. I put my hands on his upper arms, and I felt his lean muscles move beneath my grasp. I slid my knees onto the blanket on either side of his waist, effectively straddling Edward Cullen. I pushed into him slightly, feeling him harden beneath me.
“Um … yeah … I guess I am,” I said breathlessly.
Edward slid his hands out of my hair, letting it fall to the sides of my face, as he lightly ran his fingertips down my back, stopping at the hem of my shirt. He toyed with the hem for a few seconds, and then deftly slipped his fingers up under my shirt and ran his hands along my bare back, without breaking eye contact with me. He shifted under me so I could feel just how hard he was again, and then he pulled me towards his mouth. My lips fell hungrily upon his and he kissed me deeply. His mouth eventually moved to my ear, where his tongue traced my earlobe, his hot, ragged breaths at my ear.
“Do you want me to f**k you, Bella?” he asked as his hands now ran teasingly over my jean-clad ass. He stopped at the tops of my thighs and curved his hands in so that his fingers were splayed upon my inner thighs. He lightly nudged my legs open wider. He buried his face into my neck and began to place feather-light kisses up the length of my neck, until he reached my other ear.
“Bella?” he purred, waiting for my answer.

Bobby has been in TX this week. Dallas the 16th, Austin 18th and supposed to be in Houston the 22nd. His tour calendar doesn’t have a show tonight. Wonder where he is playing. The story that totally owned me this week was Stolen Souls. debbo rec’d this last week. I had it favorited on Twilighted but hadn’t started reading it yet. I had been getting alot of update alerts so I knew she was updating it alot. It is some story. Alot of points of view other than Edward and Bella, but it works for the story. She updated at least 3 times this week alone!! Run and read this story, it is something else!

I LOVEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD “A LITTLE CRAZY”> I pictured the lead singer of INCUBUS as the male character lead for this story. NO IDEA WHY except maybe for the tattoos and the long lean torso and he seems to be the type of guy that would travel around the world…… I LOVE that story.

I’ll help a girl out and tell you to not bother reading The Host. I am yet to find a single person who actually enjoyed it! Rarer still is finding someone who actually finished it. Seriously- I have a group of friends who I do the whole book sharing/ reccomending thing with (how I got into Twilight, actually) and out of 8 of us, one person has finished. She said it was like pulling teeth. I never got past the first chapter and I never, ever give up on books!!!!
Go straight to Water for Elephants, I reckon. It’s fab.
This will probably be totally missed…but I read The Host and finished it and thought it was pretty good…not fantabulous, but good. Also a friend of mine read it and she loved it. We are both in late 40′s, early 50′s so maybe age is a factor? I am about to finish W4E and now that one is excellent! I’m not a fan of Stephen King so you’re on your own there.
I tried…I really tried to read The Host…but I couldn’t make it through the first chapter either…I borrowed it from the library where they only had it in a translated version…and I think that contributed to things…the names of the characters translated into Swedish…plain ridiculous…try it, I’ve heard a lot of people that love it…but it’s not as easy to love as TTS…! <3
Yes, you definitely have to get past the first couple of chapters! I forgot to mention that! Then it’s gets better.
I had the same experience with The Host. I could not get past the first few chapters. I was so lost/confused. And I am a voracious reader (and, no, not just of FF! LOL). I have a literature degree and I read the classics, Dickens being one of my favs and lots of people find him hard to read. So if I couldn’t get through it, that says something I think.
I’m with al of you guys. I really tried with The Host, I barely even started it. Reading should be fun but it was too much like hard work trying to get into it, so I gave up.
I’m kinda freaked out!! I loved The Host and have read it multiple times! Yes, I did start it, got confused and put it down. But, I tried again and, boy, I am so glad I did!! It’s confusing when you have Wanderer’s voice and Melanie’s voice in the past, present and future kind of at the same time. Keep going and you will understand! There’s a lot of creativity in describing how the humans survive and also suspense when Wanderer goes on the raids. The love triangle is fascinating and I couldn’t “root” for anyone!! The end was a total surprise!!

I’m going to give it a shot….I remember our grade 5 teacher told us that we should at least read the first chapter of a book before rejecting it. I’ll see what I think of it 5 chapters in.

I just got to the final chapter (so far) of “Don’t Forget to Remember Me”. I guess I’m a slow reader on purpose and also I tend to read late at night after everything else has shut down and so I’m usually to wiped to read fast. I LOVED THIS STORY and can’t wait for the update as it looks like it’s nearing the end. At first I thought it had about 200 too many “I love yous” but it needed it to set it up for what happens in the story and how angsty that was because of all that love. READ IT. IT”S GOOD!

Do you remember Tropic of Virgo? It’s one of my favourite FF’s ever and has a certain iconic status, I think.
Well, in.a.blue.bathrobe has written two other stories in the series; one of them is Emmett and Rosalie’s story, a sort of prequel called Delta of Mercury, and it’s really beautifully written. It really shows her talent as a writer– there’s only 25 short chapters so you can read it in an hour or so!

Got my “New Moon” DVD at Walmart yesterday morning when the store opened, actually DH insisted that he pick it up for me and waited in line with 10 other people for the store to open. I couldn’t understand why, I was ready to go myself, but he insisted, threw on his coat and left.
He came home with the 2 disc special edition and an Edward throw pillow which he also picked up. The night before he’d bought me an Edward ‘New Moon’ T-shirt..talk about an enabler! So now I walk around with Edward’s face plastered all over the front of my boobs while hugging Edward’s face on the front of a pillow..am I twelve? I’ve gotta wonder?!!
It’s gotton so bad here, that while we were watching the DVD yesterday afternoon he kept complaining about Jacob and saying Bella has hidden agentas..he’s definately ‘Team Edward’! He was as anxious to watch the DVD as I was and he’d already seen the movie in the theatre the first week it came out. I do believe I’ve actually brainwashed the poor guy!

Soo…I’m now completely caught up with |MoTU|… it’s so much better than I had anticipated…and I finally get what Icy meant about a slow burn…but it feels sooo good! Thanks angelz for pimping it until I couldn’t resist…nah…I was always going to read it it was just lack of time that stopped me before…but thanks anyway I wouldn’t have fast forwarded it in the reading list without all the wonderful words about it! …And fifty is such a mystery…and wow…ok nuff said about is you all know how good it is!
Another story I’m reading and loving is |Hide and Drink| which I know many of you read…it’s my first non-canon vampire fic…and it’s brilliant! Don’t know that much about Savage’s consistency in updates, I hope it’s not too long in between chapters…but this one is a bit lighter and not as hard to wait for as some other stories…even though almost every chapter ends with a cliffie…
In spite of my self (I should know better) I’m starting another fic today…but this time it’s a coplete story (even worse idea since I won’t be able to stop reading it) |The List|… 25 chapters…can’t take that long right? *snort*
Next week I think I’m going to start catching up with |UoEM| again…
Since MoTU kept me MIA yesterday I just want to say…excellent viddys RCC… Dukkesas vid is on my YT page and starts automatically when I click on it so I’m guessing I have seen it a vast number of times! Still equally awesome!

I love Sundays! You guys rec some great stuff….my faves are growing over at Twilighted and FFnet. Which leads me to this question…..HOW do you all keep track of what you are reading? There is so much great stuff out there…..I’m finding it hard to remember what’s what, kwim? Just curious
Was thinking of making a spreadsheet of what I’m reading, where I’ve left off, but fear of the hubbage finding it freaks me out a bit. I’m NOT in the ff closet, he knows all about my Twi/Rob/FF obsessions, but if I put it to “paper” and he finds it…..I’ll never hear the end of it, LOL!
One thing I did that really helps…go into ffn and search for your user name (author). You can then go to your list of favorites and the list contains the short synopsis of the story. Print that out. Works better than logining in an printing your favs. You just get the list and not the summary. I also created a community on ffn – stories I want to read. So when I get new ffn rec’s I just add them to my community. You can print that too and keep handy when you want to find your next story to read. It’s really helpful to have the summary with the story title. Helps to jog the ol’ memory!

I am also starting to fav more on Twilighted and I haven’t figured out a good way to keep track of those. I only have 34 or so favorited there. I wish they had a way to list “stories I want to read”. I just fav them, but you start getting updates on stories you have’nt even started reading yet. I just delete the alerts but still.
I read all my fics on my iPhone. FFn is better formatted for that than Twilighted or the Writers Coffee Shop. I also can’t review on Twlilighted on my iPhone. The keyboard does not pop up when I touch the “review” box. So I feel bad I can’t leave a review, so I leave a rating instead.
I pretty much do what roxiesmom does, except I don’t print out my ff.net list. I just make sure that I put every story I’m reading both on my favorites list and on story alert.
I also have a C2 for stories I’m interested in reading.

I agree with roxiesmom about Twilighted… I just have to fave something if I want to save it for later. I wish they had a better system over there. It’s part of the reason I prefer ff.net, but with the witch hunts that have been going on there lately, I don’t really trust keeping everything on my list there anymore…

I save everything I want to read in my bookmarks. The ones I’m currently reading have individual folders in my email. That way when I get an update and I’m not able to read it right away I can put it in it’s folder and don’t have to search through all my email later.
I also have folders in my favorites list and I file under one-shots, completed, favorite author recs, dark and angsty (my fav), etc.
I just loved Fourteen. I related so much.

I absolutely loved Fourteen. I cried so hard reading that story. No story has made me cry harder. But it was a beautiful cry, when the story finally ended. So much emotion in that one! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended!!
