Before I dive into my review, I just wanted to note that I have purposely avoided any reviews written by my peers. I wanted to really be unaffected by what my fellow bloggers and the other Rob sites were saying.
So as many of you may know by now, I buggered off from work on Friday and caught a matinee showing of Remember Me. Armed with my blackberry, a big bag of popcorn and my token diet coke, I settled into my seat. I was quite surprised to see there were only about 10-12 people in the theatre, most of which were women however there was one person…well not sure if it was a dood O.o

So when I arrived to see Remember Me, I had tempered expectations…I was, yes truth be told, cautious. I wasn’t thrilled with some of the trailers but realized that they were just snippets of the whole. It was the industry reviews that gave me hope and rightfully so.
Watching the movie was odd, it was like watching a friend portray a character, I could see bits and pieces of Rob, his mannerisms, his style etc. I found myself listening to see if I could detect his British lilt coming through. I just kept thinking about Rob and not about the character of Tyler, I was Robnotized! LOL
Aidan is so funny
Rob was so amazingly hot and beautiful to look at in this film that at times, I found myself losing all focus. *-* At times, I wasn’t even paying attention to the dialogue because I was so busy ogling…*hangs head in fangirl shame.
Overall, I thought the film was really great. I thought Rob, though one dimensional at times, did an amazing acting job here. Once he moved past the stifled anger and rage lurking below the surface, I really felt the character and got lost in the movie…yep I stopped ogling lol Remember Me really served to showcase Rob’s acting range and I found myself smiling ridiculously throughout the entire movie like a proud mama sister.
Great acting by both but chemistry not so much.
My main critique for this film was the love story. It just didn’t feel like a progressing romance that was going to climax into an epic love. I’m not sure if they lacked chemistry or what but I just didn’t feel the strength of their love at the end when I really needed to.
The sex scenes however, were stellar and I held my breath while watching them! Even though much was left to the imagination, while I was watching my mind wandered to every fanfic I’d ever read lol. Every one with wall sex, angry sex, bed scenes…you name it, the sex scenes took me to my happy place. All I can say is please sweet baby Jesus let there be sex scene outtakes on the DVD!

- The Birkenstocks make a cameo….squeeeeee
- Rob in red made me black out a bit
- I totally played spot the manties and yes you can spot them!
- I also played Remember Me Asscandy, looking out for any and all chances to spy the goods!
- I really loved angry Tyler, from the art gallery scene on, wow Rob was powerful.
- DOOD I still can’t get past the dirty shower ICK!
- I found myself laughing a lot, there were some really funny parts.
- The fight scene on YouTube is way hotter than the one in the movie.
- Seeing all the set pictures throughout the summer really detracted from the film for me. I kept thinking about when and where that scene was filmed and who I knew was there during filming etc…
- I teared up at random points throughout the film.
- The way the ending was laid out in the script was WAY better than in the movie. It tore me apart to read it and those were only words.
- I didn’t react as strongly as I expected at the end. This is where I tell you that I wish I’d never read the script.
- Aidan in the jail cell, OMG epic funny.
- Ruby was a scene stealer
- I also thought Emilie did and amazing job, she is really a great natural actress.

BEST Scenes for Ogling Rob
- White tee shirt in bookstore – OMFG Rob looked so hot in this scene that I don’t think it can be measured by existing technology. Wow just Wow!
- Walking down NYC street with Aidan drinking coffee – this scene stuck out to me so much because he just looked like himself. *sigh*

Random Stuff
- After the film, in the bathroom, there was a girl who saw the movie washing what I believed to be her tear-stained face and another putting in eye drops. So I’m venturing to guess that they were moved.
- I got spotted at the theatre by a Twitter Buddy lol who was there with a friend. Yes, there are people who know what I look like in real life. I only wish I knew she was in the theatre at the time.
Overall, I really enjoyed this movie and I plan on seeing it in the theatre again erm so I can try to listen to the dialogue I missed. LOL WTF who am I kidding, I’ll probably just start ogling again.

JAG, I totes agree with every point of your review. I did bawl like a baby and I did read the script and knew what was coming. He was awesome and he has so many years of yummy hawtness to cum. Cannot wait for Bel Ami. The costumes alone DIE me!!!

-had read so many spoiler-filled reviews and refused to see a movie without a perfectly happy “and she married her prince and they lived happily ever after” endings.

-are not interested in anything PG-13 ‘cuz it’s NOT HOT ENOUGH
-didn’t realize that there would be enough smoking-hawt-sex- ass-candy-mantie-spotting-tent-spyin’ moments to make it well worth the price of admission despite any other short “cummings” real or perceived.

You know what, I DID think about that when I was watching the movie…..that I had seen so MANY clips of scenes already out there on the internet, that I almost felt like I had seen the entire movie…except for the ending of course. They still didn’t market it properly…..but sometimes we get too much on the internet. It ruins the fun of seeing it for the first time on the screen. I don’t know how they SHOULD market, it, but people do studies on that all the time and I don’t think they know what the fuck they are doing. Rob DID do a good job of making sure it wasn’t marketed to tweens. I am so proud of Rob for making that a big issue.
Deb I felt the same way until about halfway. I have every picture taken from the summer so I knew what scene it was by what he was wearing…but that’s my own fault. I almost died when he was on the fire escape. Fucking Red T, Birks and the black sweats!!!!
Thinking about what could have been put in the ads to market it better…I just don’t know what they could have done. As I looked at my pictures this weekend I found myself saying hey where was that scene and where was that.

OH YEAH…the scene with him in the hat with the blue jacket against the cruiser. FUCK…..that was hot even in pictures. DAMN IT. hmmm I wonder how that scene entered into the story? Maybe that was when he trashed the school and the same cop arrested him? Maybe they thought that was too much of a stretch that the same cop would be there the second time to arrest Tyler. BUT DAMN you are right…I loved seeing those pictures and Rob looked intense and HOT. There’s also the possibility that the FANS might have ruined the takes…..

Dee & Deb – I think the pictures (and scene) you’re referring to was in the film. The pics are from Rob and Chris rehersing the scene (So Rob was in his “street clothes”). The actual scene was the fight scene after the bar (where Rob was in “costume”)

I think Scummit definitely did a piss-assed job of advertising this movie. I mean almost everybody I asked to go w me last week had no idea wtf I was talking about! I think only my daughters, and their friends actually knew about it, but that’s because they new about the Eclipse trailer, and probably because it’s all I’ve been talking about for the last few months!
I too thought the fight scene wasn’t as good in the movie as to the one we saw before.

I’d been wondering when we would get your point of view about the movie. I agree with almost all of your thoughts. I also left the theater feeling so proud of him. I am so glad that I didn’t read the script first.
I wasn’t sure when I was going to see the movie, until I hooked up with RobSexMe, here at RAoR, so thank you for that JAG. She is really great and we had an amazing time meeting, talking forever, and of course enjoying the film.
I have to say, that there were times when I was totally distracted by Rob, just staring instead of following the dialogue, pretty much at all of the same places that you mentioned. I remember a scene where Tyler stands up, and the camera is right on his ass, the whole time. Seriously, killed me.
My favorite scene for me was when Tyler was holding Ally hair while she was over the toilet. When she passes out, and he’s calling her name, trying to get her dad’s phone number, God, he looked so gorgeous and sweet.
The lighter scenes definitely seemed more like him, than the angry scenes, but Angry Rob is really, really, steamy hawt.
I had a delayed reaction to the ending. I really didn’t hit me, until the next morning actually. Looking at the first pic of Brooding Rob, makes me tear up, because I know where that image falls in the movie.
Chemistry with Caroline and Aiden, was more interesting and compelling, than with Ally. But I do think that Emile was good.
At least we know now, why he was wearing the red t-shirt. Rob in red=good.

I can’t really add anything yet since I had to work all weekend and am just getting to go this afternoon. I am going with 2 of my bf’s, one who got to see it before me (boo) and knew absolutely nothing about Rob and loved it and wants to see it again! Yay! I just hope I don’t live up to my name and ‘am a mess’ when it’s over.
I couldn’t concentrate either. I kept poking my friend and saying, “I sat on that statue,” or “I remember the day that was filmed,” or “[unintelligible mumbling and groaning during sex scenes]“. I will have to see it a few more times to decide if the movie was actually good or if I just have my Rob-blinds on.
Angry Rob for the win. That was sexier than the sex scenes.
I started crying as soon as I knew we were getting near the end because I knew what was supposed to happen. I like the way they did it, but I didn’t read the script.
I didn’t care for the editing. I thought some scenes were cut short or ran long and it affected the emotional intensity.
I’ve never seen Rob act better. Goes to show how great writing and direction make all the difference.

Ok after reading JAG’s review today and the Angelz comments above, I have come to the realization that I would totally suck as an objective movie reviewer #don’tquitmydayjob. I say this because my review of Rob and RM is totally rainbows and kittens and cotton candy. Haha. I seriously found nothing to complain about. I still think he was BRILLANT! I still think he deserves an Oscar for it. #seewhatImean—>cottoncandy. Haha. I thought the storyline was excellent! I loved every.single.thing. #rainbowsandkittens. I did not read the script, so maybe that fuels me more to think how perfect it was. I bawled my eyes out. I can see how some younger viewers may not understand the ending. I know Smom’s 3 girls loved it and asked to go see it a 4th time last night. She had to turn them down due to school night/too late. But I will have to ask her about that…if she had to explain the ending to them.
I can see why Rob kept describing it as like Ordinary People. It totally had that vibe. I loved that movie when it was out. But this was 1000 times better IMO. I am wondering now if Rob said he didn’t know how to describe what the film was about due to not wanting to give away too much re: the ending and what happens to his character. It had the love story with Ally but for me overall this wasn’t a love story instead it was a family drama…how this one family dealt with so much tragedy….hence the comparison to Ordinary People.
Ok now just some odds and ends
* when he first was on screen on the fire escape with the red shirt…the red shirt lit’rally made me wiggle in my seat…knowing Rob had posted us about wearing it. I lit’rally had to clamp my lips shut to keep from Squeeing in front of my group. It was so loud in my head though…the squeeing I mean haha
* Rob holding her hair while she barfed in the toilet…although that was gross to see…I loved how caring he was and said to my Robsten friend…I wonder how many times he has done that for Kristen? Looks like he has some experience. Haha ok so this leads me to the next point…

He is so wrapped in Kristen I think, it was hard for him (TWHS) to get it right with Emilie. That to me just shows the difference in a regular movie…actors playing lovers…and those that are actually in love and super hot for each other…it translates on screen to the audience. Ryan/Rachel, Brad/Angelina, Rob/Kristen.
*I did notice the addcandy taking up the entire screen in one shot and had to squeeze thighs together a little tighter despite the stupid baggy pants.

Also on the Rob/Emilie chemistry, as oppoed to the Rob/Kristen chemistry, I think it kind of proved it entirely for me when he sniffed Em’s hair. He didn’t seem to take that big of a whiff, like when he smells Kristen’s and he seems like he wants to inhale her whole head, but that’s just my opinion!

Haven’t had the chance to read all the comments so if I repeat something, I’m sorry.
I thought there were some holes in the story.
-I didn’t feel that the Tyler/Alli love story was given a chance to develop into a really strong love. Where were the conversations where they bare their souls and discuss their losses? Each loss was discussed in just a passing conversation.
You felt like it was the beginning of a major love but I didn’t get that it was an all consuming/they have to be together love.
-At times I felt the story was rushed. Not enough was developed or explained fully, except for the Tyler/Caroline relationship. That was perfect.
-Hated the blue cargo pants. YUCK!! Didn’t men wear jeans in 2001?
- The Sex, yes it was gooooood! Wow, if that’s what Rob is like with simulated sex, holy crap, he must be f*cking amazing for reals. Scenes could have been a bit longer and it would have been nice to have a few audible Rob moans thrown in for good measure. The hands people, why wasn’t there more roving fingers? I mean, it’s like giving a guitar to a great musician and then not have them play. Wait, they did that. WHAT A FREAKIN’ WASTE!!
Oh, well at least now I have a better visual for all of my FF.
All in all I loved it!! I’m not a crier and I avoid sappy, overwrought love stories like the plague, but this grabbed me and kept twisting my heart for hours and hours afterwards.
Needless to say, Rob was beautiful. His performance was amazing. Even my sister who generally only humors my Robsession cried and kept saying how amazing Rob was. Actually, I thought all of the performances were dead on.
Even though I knew the ending, I was stunned at the depth of feeling it evoked. Only now am I able to really think about it without tearing up.
Can’t wait to see it again. How lpng before the DVD comes out?

Everywhere you read now has to have a password login for NC-17 fics anyway. So, mine is really no different. When I have some free time to work on it, I will submit it to Twilighted too. Scilla’s Beta seems to think there shouldn’t be an issue with mine based on what she told her.
My only complaint at LJ is that it messes up my fonts when I uploaded the chapters…making Rob’s thoughts in italics spread italics throughout the entire chapter…or one bolded A/N at the beginning spread bold print throughout the chapter. it was really aggravating. Ugh! Otherwise I do like the layout of LJ, gifs, pics, backgrounds etc. It’s nicer than Twilighted in that respect.

Hey h00kas! Okay, I’m writing my theology paper on Christology and I’m talking about how we keep God at arm’s length and He struggles to get personal with us. It reminded me of the scene in How To Be where Rob is trying to hug his Mom and she is holding him at arm’s length. The scene was awkwardly long and I lmao!! So my theology paper made me think of Rob!

I do have a short but funny side note to share. I went Friday at 1:45 to try to avoid the tweens and succeeded. There were about 20 of us there – all women ranging in age from early 20s to late 40s as best I could tell. Just before the previews a woman a couple of rows behind me was talking rather loudly to her friend sitting next to her. I found it a bit annoying and tried to ignore it, but when I heard his name mentioned in the same sentence with Pee Wee Herman I had to laugh out loud and turn around and acknowledge her, as did the girl sitting a few seats down from me and a couple of others. Just about the entire audience ended up having a brief but funny convo about the fact that we felt like dirty pervs because we were all there first and foremost to check out the porn.

I already posted my adoration, now I need to do a little bitching about the technical/editing side of things. It’s hard (TWSS) not to be critical when you see a film repeatedly, and we do, so here goes.
Hand-held cameras suck. As far as I’m concerned, this only worked well in Blair Witch Project and The Boat That Rocked/Pirate Radio. I noticed it shaking during the scene by the Alice statue and couldn’t figure for the life of me why it wasn’t a stationary camera- the actors were just sitting. Nor did it seem to be a particularly windy day. It was so bad, I noticed it during my 1st viewing.
Continuity, please. Ally’s camisole strap drove me nuts. Pick a spot for it to fall and leave it. Also, costuming, wtf? Black bra and white camisole – I don’t recall that being a hot look in 2001- it just looked cheap. As much as Ally was trying to show her father she was an adult, I seriously don’t see him letting her out of the house wearing that without a fight.
Another thing- the actor who played Ally’s mom- where was her credit? She had lines and a great scene, she needed a credit. Toothbrush Girl was a freaking bare leg & got a credit. I don’t get that, unless the actor requested to be left off, and I can’t imagine anyone being attached to this who would do that.
Ok, rant over for awhile. Back to gushing.
My ovaries exploded at the thought of Tyler actually baking & frosting a freaking cake. I think I’d have jumped him then!
Tyler speaking French. UNF, though I did think of Dali for a split second. There was an Art moment for me, too, in the board room, and one Edward face talking to his mom, but they weren’t distracting. I just have seen him make lots of faces, so some are going to be familiar.
That spaghetti hanging out of his shirt? Yeah, I’d have reached over and pulled a piece out to munch on, then drizzled some of the sauce down his chest. I’m beginning to thin I should have directed this! Allan, dude, shoulda fought harder to keep that R, man!
Set dressing was all kinds of win, btw. I loved Tyler & Aidan’s apartment. The bead curtain, Cougar Cathy’s recycled armadillo, the Buddha (Best Story Ever), nasty-ass bathroom, fortune cookie slips covering the fridge… bravo.
Ok, going now to see what showtimes are for today. Need to see it again!
JAG, Do we know the weekend numbers yet? I’m really suprised that some of you had only a handful of people in your theater? Srsly, there wasn’t an empty seat in mine at Friday’s 7:25 showing.
They’re saying that it was a disappointing $8.3 million. But it came in 4th out of 10. I don’t know how that can be called disappointing. Especially since it was a small movie and in somewhat limited release. My theater had it on only one screen. I saw it Saturday night and my theater was packed.
It was Springbreak weekend here, so maybe a lot of people were out of town. I think the numbers will improve in the next week or so when all of the college kids come back.

I’ve seen Remember Me three times so far and each time I notice something new in the dialog that I must have missed the first time from being blinded by all the Rob hotness.
Sister (IfOnly) and I went together Friday morning to 10:50 show. There were approximately 20 people in the theater – ALL WOMEN. And yes, no one held back their moaning!
I knew there was a twist ending, but I had managed to stay somewhat spoiler free until some asswipe posted it in the comment section on you tube with the Eclipse trailer. I knew as soon as Tyler walked into that building what was coming and I became sick at my stomach – like I had been punched in the gut.
Friday night I took my 3 girls (15, 13, and 8) and their friends – about 10 teen girls total. The theater was full. I heard my girls say “Oh no!” when they saw the date on the chalkboard. My 8 year old did lean over and ask, “is that the day the planes hit the twin towers?”, but she would have only been 5 months old when it happened. Every girl in our group sat through the credits drying their eyes and talking about how good the movie was. They all totally got the message.
Saturday night, hubs took 8 year old and me to see it again. He thought he was earning some bonus points by taking me to see Rob. I kept telling him what a great movie it was and how much he woild enjoy it. Again, the theater was full. I wish I had a picture of his face when September 11, 2001 was on the blackboard – he cried. You could hear the entire audience gasp.
Last night, my 15 year old asked, “who wants to see Remember Me again?” Everyone did, which is odd because aside from my 8 year old and myself, they are not typically repeat movie watchers. My 15 year old and 8 year old are team Edward, and the 13 year old is team Jacob, but all three came away from this movie in love with Rob as an actor.
smom – the story of your whole fam falling in love with the movie and with Rob makes my heart happy! Even though I’d read the script and knew what was coming, I was literally sick to my stomach about the time Tyler gets to his father’s office. My heart was beating out of my chest, I was light-headed and nauseous. I could do nothing but sit with my hands over my mouth and try to keep it together. I just think the filmmakers did a wonderful job with very sensitive material. I am SO proud of “our” Robbie.

I didn’t react as strongly at the end either, the FIRST time I saw it. I felt some anxiety going into the ending; Tyler w/his bike on the phone with his Dad outside the office, etc. Once I realized where he was and then what day it was, I felt very anxious. I didn’t cry as much as I thought I would
I went to see it after lunch, also on Friday and even though I knew what was coming, I cried more the 2nd time. The scenes with the computer photos and then Tyler standing at the windows is very poignant and beautiful.
I’m planning to see it again (hopefully this week).

My RL situation is pretty bad. I won’t go into the details, but basically something happened with my parents and I have had to cut them out of my life. This is very sad because I was very close to them and so were my kids. They also watched my kids while I worked. I’m still in shock and quite numb, but I’ll make it through. One of the reasons is you guys! So much love here. Anyway, I don’t want to get all emo, since I’m at work, but just wanted to tell you all that I LOVE YOU very much. Now, if my beta would just validate ch. 24, then I’d be a little bit happier. Big smooches.

I had very high expectations for Remember Me, so I was pretty nervous as I hunkered down in my seat to watch.
I did read most of the script, but not the ending. I knew there would be a sad ending, from what others said, but not the hows and whys.
I’m glad to say it exceeded my expectations.
I thought the film was very well shot,the dialogue was witty, and intense, and the acting was great.
I hated the ending, but then I hate all unhappy endings.
I thought Rob and Emilie had great chemistry, and the sex scenes were squirm in my chair HAWT!
He’s really quite gifted at the swoony as well as the sexy.
The 1 critique I have is that I think Rob overdoes the brooding, angry thing a bit, but was that his choice or the directors?
And, aside from my Robsessiveness, that he has huge potential to be a really great actor, and I’m gonna enjoy the ride for however long it lasts.
Kristen was at LAX, and carrying one of Rob’s flannels. C’mon Egyptians, you GOTTA think that’s sweet.

I agree with JAG’s review, and I too am sad I read the script first. Like Debbo, I thought they should have kept in the brother’s original story. All the reviews I’ve read have complained that the end is telegraphed by knowing the year this film is set. It was more ambiguous in the script, I think, making the ending more of a shock when it came. I cried reading the script, but not at the film.

I also read the script and was sorry. The first time I watched it I was waiting for things that were in the script that, of course, were left out. I didn’t like the changes. I loved the movie. I went and saw it again on Remember Me Saturday, and paid more attention to Rob’s performance and I was very impressed. I felt like a proud parent or friend or something. I think he did a really great job, with his emotion. Loved Tate (Aiden) he made me laugh so hard.
I do have to admit, when I saw the “manties” my first thought was of the RoAR girls.
Rob has a great future, if he sticks with it. It is hard to believe, he is really still at the beginning of his career.
Hopefully we can all grow old with Rob and be watching him play someone’s Dad, like Pierce Bronson, in the future.
I think it’s funny how SO MANY of us said that it was all we could do to pay attention to the dialogue because we were all ogling Rob and were in a daze staring at his beauty on the big screen. I needed someone to SLAP my head a few times. LOL
So girls is everyone running out on the 19th to see Kristens new movie????

Hey Dee, yes, I’m going to see The Runaways. The critics are raving about Kristen and how she nails the role of Joan Jett. During the music scenes, Joan instructed Kristen on how to play the guitar more intensely, by saying, “Pussy to the wood.” That gets me all kinds of strangely hot and bothered. I want see how hard she hits it to the wood. Makes me think of Rob for some reason.
