One of the things that really draws me to Rob other than his sweet ass is the fact that despite all the fame and craziness surrounding his life he still manages to seem like just a normal guy. He’s not a shellacked demi-god like some other actors out there.
Rob’s not manscaped to within an inch of his life, his words aren’t carefully rehearsed, his humour is self-deprecating and he’s never ever fashioned to look like a model…

He couldn’t take it after a month so he shaved it off. That was the best shave he’s ever had. No razorburn, extremely close shave, super soft face.

The Chinese have a belief that one cannot be too perfect for fear of incurring the jealousy or wrath of spiteful or evil demons/gods!! the Muslims have a similar ethos about that and is the reason that every Persian carpet made must have an intentional flaw because only Allah can be perfect. psychologist also recognise this phenomenon and atttribute that to Jack Kennedy piping Nixon at the polls after trailing for most of the campaign…the polls picked up for Kennedy when he tripped while walking up to a stage. that trip was shown on televisions and reported on radios and in the paper but rendered him at once “human” and more accessible.

I like that Rob is not totally buff like Kellan. He’s just got a normal bod. Lanky, with a flat stomach and some abs and biceps. (and the ass of course, yes the ass….) I saw a pic today of Zac and he’s got a 6 pack going on. I just can’t see Rob with a 6 pack….he also is very unassuming for being #35 out of 40 top paid actors in 2009. Like $18 million. (See Robsessed via Vanity Fair). He made more than Brad Pitt! And he can still wear Fruit of the Loom undies, dirty clothes, torn clothes, borrowed clothes, etc etc. Just so damn normal – if being normal is the most fuckhawt, best looking man on THE PLANET!!

Rob is infinitely more attractive for being just a normal guy. I’ve always gone for the scruffy types anyway, the kinds of guys that just throw something relatively “clean” on and are good to go. LOL
Even when he’s dorky and awkward, it’s just adorable and endearing. It’s not off-putting at all. And his self-deprecating sense of humor… I always love a guy who can make fun of himself.
What got me hooked on Rob is how he can simultaneously be devastatingly hot & sexy (apparently without even knowing it) and adorably, irresistibly cute. I really don’t think many guys can pull off both so naturally. He’s also, by all accounts, just a really nice, sweet guy.
And I’m finding myself rewinding that second clip just because I’ve never heard him say his own name before. LOL My heart always skips a beat whenever I hear someone say his name, but hearing it in his own voice is a whole ‘nother experience. Can’t think of another guy who could have me taking my clothes off just by introducing himself. LOL

Oh Debbo thank you that is one of my all time favorite songs and my all time favorite man. We have been so lucky to watch him grow through this past year. It can’t have been easy for him but he’s doing it with style and grace. I think that’s why we love him. How many 23 year old guys could come out on the other side of the year he had and still be who he is. He’s an amazing talent among all of the other attributes we love about him.I hope he keeps his head and those who are lucky enough to advise him do him justice. He deserves the best.

I love this post JAG! I think its a combo of all the Hobo, Adorkable-ness that makes up Rob. The voice, the laugh, the sexhair,the sexhair,the sexhair….don’t forget the eyes, the thighs .~sigh~ Being women, we all have that “nurturing” instinct. And all of Rob’s mannerisms just pull the need to fall head over heels in love, and climb on the Train to Hell to satisfy any need we perceive he might have. I love that gif up there. JAG, I love this post because it truly speaks to the essence of Rob and why we love him.
Here’s a short video of Rob in the green room with some staffers before he went on the Ryan Seacrest show last year. He’s supposed to be playing Guitar Hero, but clearly has no clue what he’s doing. I must say that for the few seconds he does manage to play, my eyes were glued to his curled fingers on that guitar.
Another interesting tidbit is that the girl in the back with the green shirt is the girl he said was “beautiful” in another video. I’ll have to find it. She’s a pretty girl and you can catch Rob subtely looking back at her and trying to talk to her. Anyway, this is adorkable, clueless Rob at his best.

This product is AH-MAZING. I bout 27. I gave them out to all my friends as party gifts. Then I kept 7 of them for myself so I could pretend the whole Cullen family was inside me. AT ONCE. He’ll not ever have to worry about feeling afraid to be between acting jobs again. They are knocking on HIS door now. I know the pressure is still there, but still…..it’s a whole different set of situations now. So much has changed. I LOVED HIM SO FRESH and NAIVE back then. YES HE IS STILL THE SAME GUY trying to be normal and remain himself, but his handlers protect him a lot more now……..
But you know, it’s like you all said, it’s not just his beauty and talent and charisma……part of why we love him was that he DID LET IT ALL HANG OUT so to speak when he first came on the scene. We got to know him, or at least we liked what he shared of himself with us. THERE ARE NO ACTORS out there that let themselves be so vulnerable as he did last year for TWILIGHT’s first film. But it wasn’t quite the same this year. I do think part of it is he matured some and I’m sure he saw all the videos from last year…..and there was less pressure because of NM……but also I think that his management and handlers just limited more than last year. YES IT IS STILL ROB……but he just has matured so much and is more able to handle the pressure now compared to last year. He is a PRO with the press…..but he’s still been able to be true to himself. He’s just not having to WORK IT so hard now. He’s THERE. Ya know?

@Heidi, the reason people hate on Nikki and don’t trust her is things like this video. Why are there paps outside a moving boxes store? Rob was not really famous yet and he was definitely unrecognizable with that short hair. Again, I don’t know the real story, but word out there is that Nikki is the one that called the paps any time she went out with Rob or Kristen. I can see what part of L.A. they’re in and there is NO reason why paps would be waiting there, none. Someone had to have called them. They were waiting there, they didn’t show up while Rob and Nikki were there. Anyway, eventually Rob figured things out and cut her out. Sorry, to go all mama bear but I just want to hug him watching him in that video. He seems so trapped and if she set the whole thing up, it just makes me angry.
As for the hair, I read in an interview that as soon as his hair became the thing everyone was talking about that he said, “well, then I have to cut it off.” and so he did. Sorry if I seem pissy up above, haven’t had my coffee.
I’ve never seen that video of him and Nikki before, it seems to me that Nikki was enjoying being filmed a little too much for it to be just a coincidence that the papz were there!
So the video with the moving boxes was in late 2008, this video is at Comic Con 2009, which was in July, I think. Oh what a difference a few months make. Right after Taylor walks out, Kristen walks out and looks surprised to see Nikki and they hug. Watch Rob’s reaction as he walks out. He lifts his right arm out of the way, so he doesn’t have to hug Nikki. And then, Kristen turns to look at Rob and lightly punches his arm when she sees he’s still wearing her NY cap. He wore it all through the filming of “Remember Me.” So cute.
I think I’ll just give her the benefit of a doubt. I’ve never been a person to listen to rumours (ugly rumours). AND, she’s what, 21 or something? Still young, makes mistakes. No reason for hate. IMO (I’m the forgiving type)

I heard the pap say they were on la brea.. “The Grove” is near la brea, and I used to go there with my ex sister in law & we saw paps around there a couple of times… Doesent it also intersect Sunset and Santa Monica in West Hollywood? Very plausable for them to be there as well.. But its not uncommon for stars to call the paps on themselves. Paris Hilton did it… I dont doubt Nikki would do it too… just sayin
Tthe pap said he was on “El Cerrito and La Brea, close to Hollywood Blvd.” That’s not where the Grove is, ’cause you’re right there are definitely paps there. Rob and Nikki seem to be at a mini mall, where paps don’t randomly hang out. Granted, they’re still in Hollywood, but if they’re on El Cerrito, that wouldn’t be grand central station for celebs.
The thing about L.A. is that there aren’t just paps everywhere. There are set places where they hang out always and then there are other places where if they are there, it’s because someone alerted them to be there. Basically, if you go to places like The Ivy, The Grove, The Viper Room, Spagos, anywhere on Robertson, like Kitson, Lisa Kline, you’re going there knowing you’re going to be photographed, a mini mall on a side street in Hollywood, less likely.
Again, I’m not anti Nikki, I’ve just read too many stories about her and heard too much buzz, in combination with the way Rob reacts to her currently, as opposed to the way he used to react to her, that lead me to believe she did some bad shizz. I love that Rob is so unaffected by the chaos that surrounds him. He just seems to bumble along no matter what is happening and seems genuinely confused by all the attention. He can laugh at himself and others, and wants to live a normal life avoiding the crap that is Hollywood.
I love that Rob leaves the house looking like he has fallen out of bed, grabbed a few clothes out of the hamper, dragged his hand through his hair, and picked up his keys and ciggies. No posturing in front of the mirror, agonising about what he looks like or what he’s wearing or who might see him. That is just so cool – and coolness can’t be faked it comes from within.
I love that Rob is honest about his lack of housekeeping or culinary skills. He’s such a bloke, living in a messy hotel room with full ashtrays and pizza boxes, surviving on a diet of hotpockets and take out. I lust after lazy Rob!!
There are so many things about Rob that are normal and unpretentious but that’s my top 3.

I love the fact that he isn’t like many other 23yr old men out there. All the guys I know that age are self centered pricks who think they’re all that (and they are so not). Rob is mature about his work, knows how to have fun and doesn’t believe the hype ppl say about him. Any other young guy and they would have got so big-headed (twss) but Rob manages to laugh it off (with the most adorabley sexy chuckle) w/out making us pity him……

Okay I know this isn’t the right post to recc fanfic but I started reading one lst nte tht has me hooked. Its all human w/ a supernatural twist that doesn’t show until third of the way into story. There are some quite funny bits too. For some bizarre reason this story only has just over 100 reviews and totes deserves more (works out to 4/5 reviews a chapter). Its a completed fanfic so no waiting around for those pesky updates. Pls pls go have a read and review….I dont know the author bt this deffo deserves more credit (say I sent you if you do pls). We all know that underneath all that cute and dorky stuff Rob’s a dirty little manwhore – it’s that glimmer of bad boy that we find so appealing. We know he would totally do it behind a dumpster given the opportunity, you could never say that about Effron. Ewww, I feel a bit sick now, he’s just a boy.
Well besides all the obvious things about his looks that you ladies have pointed out I love his off beat answers and comments in his interviews….that was half of the attraction I have to say when I first came across Rob! Someone said earlier on about him not being the same any more in his interviews, being more guarded?? Well part of that I think is due to the fact that his unfiltered mouth probably caused him a few problems last year LOL! Notably the comment about never washing his hair that then became a huge internet debate about his personal hygiene.
The bloke said it ‘tongue in cheek’ – it was meant as a joke as was the Kristin thing (initially!!!) and that got taken very seriously and look at how things are now? I bet his management and/or family looked at those interviews and decided that the second time around New Moon Promotion he needed think about what he was saying and how he said it. Mind you…he still came out with one or two snorters …didn’t he say something about his Mum giving birth to him when he appeared on one of the early morning shows and then he complained of stomach ache on the interview with Steve Jones from channel 4 LOL!!! Good old Rob…he’s still there…just being a bit more careful! Wonder if we’ll get any gems during Remember Me promotion?

I think the fact that he has no idea how and why we are all head over heels in love with him makes him all the more attractive.
It’s as if he see his faults and is self concious about them and cant see what we see. I was like that at his age, I was very attractive but I wasted it by hating all my little flaws. I have much more confidence now that Im older. I think thats why he hated seeing himself on screen. Altho he did say he was proud of his body in the shirtless scene in New Moon (Im proud of it too Rob, worship it daily) He must be getting a bit more confident.
Also when he is doing public appearances he always looks like he is just being carried along with it all and its as if he’s saying to himself ‘I cant believe I’m really here but I’m just going to go with it’
Not only is Rob adorkable, he is also adaptable.
I am also proud of Rob’s body and worship it daily, I just wish I could kneel in front of him and worship it properly!

I feel badly that every snort, trip and verbal diarrhea gets analyzed to within an inch of its life….tough going for a guy who just wants to be himself. I guess that’s what makes him so appealing – here’s hoping that he doesn’t fall victim to the damn Hollywood machine that wants to make him conform to what’s “acceptable”.
George Clooney and Johny Depp have both managed to do it – while having stellar careers and not taking themselves too seriously – I think Rob is strong enough as well…..
Binky: I totally agree with you. I hate when the media analyses every little thing that comes out of his mouth (not that I’m not guilty of it occasionally myself). I much prefer to just listen to his beautiful voice, no matter what he’s saying (I can’t pay attention to his words when he starts to speak).
