Ooh, a sexy priest … yummy! I am such a debauched old slapper, but I have very fond memories of being totally in love with a priest when I was 18. He was the handsomest man I’d ever seen, 6’2″, jet black hair, blue eyes – typically Irish, with all the charm and blarney that went with that. He was 36 and I adored him. He was our curate for a couple of years before moving to another parish (I was bereft!) but had a crisis of faith shortly after, involving his difficulty with celibacy – he REALLY loved women! He was granted a year off by his Order so he could resolve whether he wanted to remain in the priesthood, and ended up working with my dad on road construction. I remember going out with him and all my dad’s mates and dancing with him, and then, on the way home snogging the face off him in the back of the car. He flirted outrageously with me and I really hoped he would decide to leave the priesthood permanently but much to my endless disappointment he decided at the end of his year-out that he wanted to return to the priesthood and I only saw him once more when my dad died and he drove 120 miles to come and see us. That was over 20 years ago and I have often wondered about him since, and if I’m honest I guess he was my first great love. I still remember, more than 30 years later, what a great kisser he was! Ahh, forbidden love! It’s a good job I don’t believe in hell, because the filthy thoughts I used to have about this smexy man of the cloth would surely condemn me to a firey afterlife! Can’t wait to read this story.

THAT STORY WAS JUST REALLY WELL WRITTEN. WOW
I should have gone back to it sooner. WHEW. INTENSE. I need a day off from it because it’s so intense and standing on a cliff, it’s so delicate and indecisive and MAN I NEED A BREAK. LOL
whew….. I don’t consider this angst, I consider this HEART WRENCHING and the choice a PAINFUL one. LORD. These stories can get into “SOAP OPERA” mode if you let them. LORD. Nora wanted me to read “The Blessing and a Curse” a long time ago…..the stories have to capture me FAST for me to stick with them…but sometimes I GO BACK and like it even more. I’m sure I will go BACK to “Wide Awake”, although it freaked me out at first cause there’s some HEAVY disturbing angst in that one. And honest to god my moods change…both plot wise and sex wise in reading fan fics. Right now I’m leaning more towards ROMANTIC sex with deep emotional bonds and a long held longing that’s been teased for a while. Then like yesterday I was all horny and shit and probably ovulating and I wanted the wham bam thank you maam and THEN let’s fall in love stories.
That’s the cool thing about these fan fics……THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY. Whatever floats yer boat …it’s out there.
But a really good writer can make you FORGET your own MOODS and they will pull YOU IN and make you want what THEY are selling in their story. A real good writer will help you actually LOSE YOURSELF in the story. Then it’s not about getting a rush off a lemon, or a hit off some romance, but it’s about something bigger. Good writing will do that. sigh
