Expatz, I’m still posting on Twilighted and will continue to do so, it’s just that since the chapters have to be approved by my beta over there, they take longer to post. I just submitted Ch. 8 for approval. They usually get approved every 4 days. Eventually, I hope to catch up over there as well.

OH god I went and saw it last night with my husband and sister in-law. I was surprised when he said he’ll order tickets online if I wanted to go so we don’t have to wait in line. I think he was curious to see what the hype was all about. Anyway I was sitting in between them and I had to be quit in my Robgasmic moments. OMG Rob was absolutely adorable through that whole interview! I loved how he reacted to the shirt mis-buttoning question, but I’m a little worried that he is going to become self-concious of it now, and we might not see much of the mis-buttoning in the future. Oh Rob please don’t worry too much about how your clothes look, we love you any way you are, with your clothes neat and tidy, or completely askew, on or off(preferably the latter), it doesn’t matter you always look F*ckHawt either way!

Let’s get real. There is not a shortage of people around Rob to let him know what he looks like and if he has missed a button (specially for something as big as the MTV movie awards). Love this post, hot vids and a good laugh are always a great start to the day!
Saw New Moon yesterday!!!!! Enjoyed it a lot, thought Rob was beautiful (sigh), loved the parking lot walk, the sunlight stripping and loved the Volturi scenes. Liked the wolf stuff more than I thought I would. Seemed to stick fairly closely to the book.
I did get 2nd hand embarrassed though at Alice’s vision of Edward and Bella, all sparkly, dressed in white, running through the woods…….(squirm) Also hated how they had done Jackson’s hair – all bouffant!
Thought Billy Burke and Anna Kendrick were great.
Apart from a couple of tracks I thought the music was pretty forgettable. Preferred the soundtrack from Twilight.
Obviously I will have to go again, just to check my original findings though….!
Luckily, I didn’t have to kill any fan girls, but there was a really annoying (middle aged) woman who was literally oohing and aahing at everything, laughing when it was only faintly amusing and excitedly calling out stuff like “Alice!” (loudly) when Jacob said vampires were near. And it wasn’t even me!!!
I was very well behaved as my daughter was right next to me.
Oh! And right behind us there was an almighty row over saving seats which almost resulted in 3 people being thrown out – hilarious! This was at least an hour before the film began, brilliant!

romanysue I totally agree with your comment about the soundtrack.. not one track can I remember after watching the film. When I watched Twilight I remembered every track and what scene it went with… so the new moon soundtrack for me totally sucked.
The scene in Alices vision I thought was a nice touch, but They way I vision Bella was not like that at all! in that scene she looked like a sweet 16 yr old girl and I see her as a beautiful Elegant Woman.
I totally loved the film and cant wait to to see it again.. The only thing that disapointed me a bit was the reunion scene.. I thought it was cut to short *sigh*

I’ve been wayyy MIA this weekend due to wallowing in everything New Moon since Thursday at Midnight!
Um… I know I am about to be shouted down, and possibly incite a twi-riot of sorts, but…
Did anyone feel New Moon was a bit like a toasted cheese sandwich? ie. oozing cheese? Possibly schmalz with a double dash of cliche?
I was as excited as the next person to see the next installment, but I am feeling – well – underwhelmed. Happy to be converted to loving it – in fact dying to be – but I just can’t help feeling that it was all a bit cringey with a dose of the soaps???
My main gripes…
1. Catherine Hardwicke is (admittedly) annoying and all kinds of weird, but I feel she GOT it. She got the teen angst thing and she definitely nailed the look and feel, and music in Twilight… I can’t even recall what song went where in New Moon, and in fact if any of the soundtrack was utilised… and I OWN the soundtrack!
2. Did the vampires have to look SO overt? Yellow eyes??? There is no way the vamps/Cullens could have blended amongst the simple folk of Forks looking like they do in NM. And isn’t that the point? That they are incredibly beautiful and aloof but that they can live amongst the mere mortals undetected. Jackson Rathbone and Nikki Reed should be suing as we speak for what was done to them via hair and makeup in this movie. PLUS – we know they are vamps from seeing and reading Twilight, we don’t need FLASHING NEON signs via contacts and excessive talcum powder!
3. The Edward/Bella running dream sequence in all sorts of linen and lightweight fabrics was WRONG WRONG WRONG. There is NO WAY Edward Cullen or Bella would be caught dead in those outfits, or would agree to star in what resembled an Avon commercial.
But… I’m just saying. Thoughts? Please don’t impale me!

I think it’s totally ok that you give your opinion, but the extensive way you describe your criticism is maybe a bit too ‘early’…? Cause some of us might not have seen the movie yet, and it might ‘ruin’ their fun and their enthusiasm a bit if they are going to see it in a couple of days/next week or so…….
Fair enough Vana – I hear you. I hope anything I have said is going to have an impact on anyone’s experience of New Moon. I don’t think I have given away any spoilers etc – anything I have discussed above has been readily available for view via the myriad of trailers etc in the last few months.
But please – don’t let my opinions spoil New Moon for you or anyone, go in with and open mind and decide for yourself. Having said what I said, I will still be be buying the DVD! I just might cringe a bit when I watch certain parts… !

No, you did not give spoilers away, but you could influence the way that they are going to watch the parts that you described (negatively). And ruin a bit of their fun they have the days before they watch it… Maybe I’m wrong, and it will of course not be this way for everyone.

Ok, my post from 10.12 was written while you posted yours form 10.08, so I had not read that one yet….
TwinPeaks & Vana—as the local spirit who denies & who hasn’t yet seen the movie, allow me to say that after we’ve all seen NM & the terrible Slummit hype is history, i predict a certain nostalgia for all things Twilight is going to set in, followed by a deep longing for RM with Rob, Rob, Rob—<3
I know what you mean TwinPeaks, I’ve been torn since seeing the film, I’m as die-hard as the next person and was so hyped and looking forward to “New Moon”. I didn’t have any problems with the make-up or the look of the Cullens, I think they actually looked better and probably how thay would have looked if Catherine hadn’t been using that blue filter in “Twilight”. Edward definately looked better, older yes, but better.
Now the score..YES, I agree with you 100%. The soundtrack (songs) were all good, bought the CD and love it. The musicial scoring through the movie was just wrong and they hardly used the songs at all. Were they all used in the end credits or something because Hell..I missed a few during the actual movie. I’m thinking that the score is affecting the reviews, it’s hard to consintrate on a movie when the damn score is distracting you all the time. The score is supposed to ease you into every scene, enhance it, like a John Barry score in a Bond film. “Twilight”‘s sore was wonderful, it was haunting and enhancing and it flowed and blended each scene. Yes, “Twilight” had flaws, but I watch it over and over again because the score picks me up emotionally and carries me time and time again into the story. All I could think of while watching “New Moon” in the theatre was that the score was really annoying me, it cheapened the movie for me and really kept distracting me from the scenes I was watching. Just too damn melodramtic and heavy, no mystery, no romance. It won’t stop me from watching the film over and over again being the totally Twihard I am, but I won’t have the same memories, maybe I’ll just watch it with the sound off once I get the DVD.
Again, as I said yesterday..it could have done with a little less “New Moon” from the book, a little more fantasy, some editing..maybe Chris took all our complaining about too much of “Twilight” being changed in the movie and was terrified to piss off the saga book fans. I still say…they should have given us more true “Twilight” and less “New Moon”…hard to please, aren’t I?
As several people have told me during my life “Lynda, you’d demand that God send you a lightening bolt as a sign, then only you would complain about his colour choice” Duh…
So… I decided to go and see NM again to see if I was wrong, and…
On a second viewing I love love LOOOOOVED IT!!!
I think my initial reaction had something to do with the cinema I saw it in … boutique, small and now after seeing it again tonight, I realize their quality was CRAP! The vamps eyes looked FLURO yellow, whereas tonight they looked golden. It was like the color was all wrong at the first cinema – really bad quality. And the screen was small. I think that completely distracted me.
I felt like I was seeing a completely different movie tonight and it was gooooood! It wasn’t just me either – one of the same friends I saw it with the first time had exactly the same reaction to the first viewing, and again to tonight’s viewing. We were both shaking our heads – it was really weird. It was COMPLETELY different tonight.
Should sue that first place!!!
My advice – see it on a big screen at a decent cinema!

Oh and girls, since this is video-Saturday, I want to post this one again. Posted it yesterday, but I think it’s worth posting again, and some of you might not have seen it.
It’s the last one Lostimortal2 has made, and for me it’s the best ever. Everything we love is in it, and with the perfect song and the funny timing it’s 3 minutes of pure bliss.
I have to say, when I watched it the first time I did not see all the perfect timing parts immediately….
But the second time I saw the shots at the lyrics “I gotta stay TRUE…”, “….on my KNEES” and …”….BEGGING please….” where matched perfectly.
And from then on (uhm…. watched it for aprox. 8 times now…) these perfect edited shots kept on coming and coming…… It’s addictive to watch.

Not giving anything away yet but I was VERY pleased with NM! They did right by the book, thank the lawd!
Have to say Kristen & Rob were MUCH better actors in NM! Rob was completely fucking adorable in the parking lot scene & I died!
So stoked to pre-order NM and counting down the days til’ RM & Eclipse!

Still looking forward to seeing NM week after next, despite one or two slightly negative comments – and hey, that’s why this site is the best, because the women here are intelligent and witty, with strong opinions, and don’t just follow the pack and adore everything unquestioningly just cos it’s Twilight. Personally, when I saw the still of Alice’s vision of Edward and Bella as vamps running through the wood I thought it was ridiculous. Bella is going to be a totally hot vixen as a vamp, not some twee little girl in flounces – and let’s face it, there’s no way on God’s earth that Alice would let either of them leave the house dressed like that! So I think that scene will be a bit crap but as I’ve said before, I’m only excited about the beginning and the end!

Good Morning all! Jag, RCC, thanks for those F*ckHawt videos, they’re the perfect thing to wake up to, especially after seeing HHH on the big screen last night. Now, I just want to take this time to say that I absolutely LOVED New Moon! I know everybody else has said what they thought about it yesterday, but I never got a chance to come(well,only after the big screen groan, lol) and post about it last night. Even though I had lost my BSRV to GOF, when I saw that, I didn’t know who Rob was, so I didn’t have the same physical reactions, but seeing him now, OMFG, it actually felt like it was the first time! I didn’t think I could love Rob any more than I did, but after last night, I think I love him more than ever, and my Robsession has gotten that much stronger!
