Thanks so much for your advice. I realize now that I’m not ready for people to look at it yet. When you mentioned all the people who helped you, it made me feel possessive about my story. All of a sudden I didn’t want anyone else’s eyes on it yet LOL.

I’m obviously writing it so people can read it, but I want it just for me a little while longer. I think what I’m going to do is finish writing all the ideas I have in my head now, which are a lot, hence the nervous energy. After I get them all written, then I’ll go back and edit, and then I’ll be ready for someone to look at it.

My problem isn’t writer’s block right now, it’s having too many ideas and wanting to get them all down before I forget them. As a result, however, it’s all pretty much stream of consciousness at this point.

Anyway, I’m rambling. I think I’ll just have to reconcile myself to the fact that in order for me to feel comfortable putting something out there for public consumption, it’s going to take me longer than I thought. Thanks again!

Hey! I know sometimes I get very anxious like that re: my writing. Sometimes though for me it is due to writer’s block or temp. loss of RobMojo due to r/l crap. A good work takes time. And know that you do not have to finish the story before publishing online. You can add a chapter at a time like most of us do. However, I’m sure no one will complain if you want to give them the gift of a completed fan fic up front.

You could have an outline for your entire story and then jot down all your ideas for each chapter in the notes or your informal outline. That’s what I do. Then as we come to each chapter, Smom and I start researching facts and bounce ideas off each other. So, it may help to advertise here at RAoR for a few people to help you. I have 5 people I work with…Smom for research and development, Annie for Beta to check punctuation, misspellings, story flow. And Unleishd and AddictedtoRob who are my Advertising execs/aka pimpers. haha And JAG for helping me with advice as well as helping me get advertised. She has been a great. But I don’t pay them anything. They do it for fun, I guess. So, I suggest you may want to put a post up tomorrow here and ask for some volunteers to fill those positions for you.

Then, you may want to slow down and go edit chapter 1 or 1-3 and start the process with your peeps and then upload to your LiveJournal account or Twilighted since fanfiction.net does not allow fics about Rob there. Twilighted has many, many rules and they also assign you an in-house Beta as well. I find LJ has the least rules to deal with. And no extra peeps assigned. You kinda have free reign there basically.
