Mmm Robward!
So the Teen Choice awards are over and done with. *sigh* like Comic Con, I’m moving on and quickly.
So earlier this week, Rob & Kristen flew out of LA bound for Vancouver and the start of the filming of Eclipse. *fangirl squeeeeeeeeeeeee* Rob in Vancouver is going to be such a different Rob than Remember Me Rob. He’s gonna be surrounded by good friends and be working in an environment that he is comfortable with and above all is protected. The Eclipse set is closed!
First off I have to admit that Eclipse is my fave book in the Saga (besides the unpublished & incomplete Midnight Sun, Stephenie get on that already sheesh) I am by far the most excited for this film to be made.
Unfortunately, when scripts get written, scenes get cut. One of my fave scenes did not make it into the New Moon Script and many many great scenes never made it into Twilight. Why or why did they cut the blood typing scene in Twilight, that was such a turning point *sigh* I digress.
So I got to thinking what are the MUST have scenes for Eclipse, the scenes that I need to see and can’t do without. While I was pondering this, I realized that my favorites are pretty much the same as everyone elses.
- Compromises – “the leg hitch” gah, I get shivers still when I think about this. Bella finally agrees to marry Edward
- Fire & Ice – the tent scene where Edward and Jacob open up about their feelings
- Monster – Bella asks Jacob to kiss her.
So those are my 3 must have scenes but beyond those there are a few Robward moments that I can’t wait to see in Eclipse.

1. romantic RobWard. New Moon was so full of conflict and sadness I need some Romance…some Vampmance!

2. happy Robward. Both Twilight and New Moon were so full of angst and trust me we aren’t going to see much of happy Robward in New Moon. I think we’ll see that pained, strained look on his face a lot. Like he’s trying really hard to figure out a complicated math problem in his head. Heehee

3. jealous Robward – I so want to see a little burning jealousy, I want to see some tension between Robward and Jacob

4. Sizzling 3-way chemistry & tension – I can’t wait to see Robward, Jacob and Bella on the big screen at the same time. GAH the tension and the sizzle *fans self*

Phew this was a long post but I really wanted to explore Eclipse. I’m very excited for filming to start & looking forward to the pictures & snippets that we’ll get to see.
What are you guys most looking forward to seeing?

Yeah, I think Rob will be so happy to be back with his castmates in canada filming eclipse. RM was a nightmare. He hung in there though and we have to give him credit for being a pro.
I hope Rob does some partying with the cast in Canada. He works hard and should play hard.
Is this the book where Kristen envisions herself OLD and Rob saying happy birthday or something like that to her as an old woman?> I get the books mixed up because it’s been a while since I read them all.

Yes, love that scene. I stared holes in the page,not believing she actually said NO. It took me awhile to realize that there was NO SEX in this series-even after the wedding (fadeout-lame). I think it finally sank in when I read that SM was Mormon.

Tiffanized, that’s one of my faves too. Get a little lightheaded reading that scene. I took Eclipse on vacation with me because I knew it had all the Robward I needed to get through a week without internet. I also like “Not to bring on the ire prematurely, but could you tell me exactly what it is about this bed you object to?” Then he rolls Bella around… and I just squeed!
To JAG, every morning I wake up feeling pretty normal. You know get up, get breakfast for my kids, tidy up. Then I check RAoR and the rest of my day is spent in a dazed, aroused, sqee girl state. Thank you, thank you and I’m off to read Eclipse again!

I liked “Midnight Sun” too. It was so interesting to see things from Edward’s perspective. It put a whole new slant on things and let you see into Edward. I always wished they could do ALL the books from both of their perspectives.
I notice a lot o fan fics will do chapters from both their perspectives. I guess it would be to jarring back and forth in a film to do that. I hope Stephanie completes midnight sun also.
When I first was a musician, I led a “trio” of musicians and we were called “Midnight Sun”. LOL I got the name from a lyric in a JOURNEY song. LOL
It only takes a few words from those books to make me fall in love with them all over again. Hopefully I will read them all again before New Moon and again in time for Eclipse, assuming I can tear myself away from my growing queue of FFs. (Yes, JAG, I blame you, LOL!)

Yep, ITA! GREAT POST, JAG! I am about to read “Eclipse” for the 4th time. Just finished NM. From the trailer, NM looks too sad and full of angst…I’m WAY looking forward to a happier Edward (and Rob!). Your points were great, and I’m with ya!

eclipse is my fav book!! i’m soo excited!!! it’s finally happening.. but then we gotta wait a year just to see it. lol i’ve re read it so many time.. well just my fav parts. it’s surreal i finished reading it in march. and now it’s here. i love all the parts u mentioned JAG. my fav scene is where edward says “bella will you please stop trying to take your clothes” off. but u missed 2 scenes that better be in the movie. the scene when bella and edward gets back from phoenix and charlie talk to bella about being pregnant and sex “giggles” and the scene in the meadow where edward finally gives in to have sex with edward but bella’s the one who actually stops it. love it! Melissa R. said eclipse was the hardest one to write so it better be good. and these scenes better be in there. they make up eclipse!

Dude, I might get so beatdown for this, but I don’t care. I feel like my cool points with you ladies are growing smaller by the minute, but here goes nothing. After reading the fics for the 3rd time, I realized I loved Jake just as much as I loved Edward. I’m Team Switz through and through. Some days I lean more towards one or the other, but I love them both. This movie is the one I’m waiting on the most. Two Words: TENT SCENE

You know in BREAKING DAWN where JACOB gets “imprinted” on Renesme? I thought that since Renesme aged so fast, that eventually JACOB would end up with RENESME near the end. But it never happened. I just thought that would have been cool….

Okay, here is my opinion on BD. I don’t like it. SM peeved me off a tad in it. I don’t blame Jake for imprinting on her, I blame SM. It was her way of making everyone have a happy ending. I didn’t like it. If Jake was going to imprint, I was hoping it would have been a native “woman” or something, not a baby. The fade to blacks pissed me off. The non-confrontation or no battle scene peeved me. The whole Renesmee thing peeved me off in general. The whole point of Edward not wanting her to give up her life was he thought she’d miss the human things, such as motherhood. Had he known she could have kids, would he have bitten her quicker and knocked her up? Sorry, I’ve ranted enough.
Do, yes, I like Jacob’s character & yes, I like Taylor.
But one bigger fact remains true, ROB will always own my ass above all else. Robward is nice to look at, but I don’t frequent sites dedicated to Twilight (except for my FF addiction), but I’m at RoaR, rain or shine, RL sucking the life out of me or not. I’m addicted to Rob & JAG. It’s my cocaine & my dealer, we have a close relationship.

@christina4 BD was the book I liked the least, so I’m with you on the blaming SM for that. She was to eager to make everyone happy. Couldn’t someone have gotten killed? A teeny little werewolf at the least? And I was hoping Jake would imprint on Leah. But sadly, no.. That dissapointed me. I feel sorry for Leah.
But I liked the first book, of the three of them. Before all the weirdness.

@Christina I concur. After re-reading the books countless times I grew to love Jacob. The TENT SCENE is my abs fave I think. As for Tater, he is growing up beautifully, and since he’s still a minor and Im a blogger that is all I can say until Feb 11, 2010. Heehee maybe I need to add a Tater legal count down clock to the side bar.
Breaking Dawn, blech! Mama was very unhappy reading that. I actually put it down for a few days when Bella became pregs and things switched to Jacobs POV. In fact, I have only ever read it once. I hate the fade to blacks, I felt distanced from Edward blech! I just felt SM completely went off the rails in this book. I hope the screenwriters take some liberties with this script to improve the story. PLUS Renesme WTF!!!!! rant over. <3

Even though Eclipse was my favourite book, I’m hanging for the Breaking Dawn movie ’cause the scene I’m DESPERATE to see is Robward undressing on the beach and then the sight of that AssCandy slooowly walking into the water…BUT it’ll be PG13 and it’ll be – Robward walk onto beach – fade to black!!! I’m inwardly crying already at the unfairness of it all!!

Jag. I totally agree with ur must have scenes. I really wanna see funny Robward. The leg hitch scene and the scene where Bella finally agrees to marry Edward. I also think that the Bella/Rosalie scene is an important one for them, opening the door to their alliance in breaking dawn so Im kinda hoping they fit that in but get the feeling the wont. They havent got into the past of the others unless they do in New Moon.
i just read this week that Jackson Rathbone is getting trained to ride horses…can only mean they are going to do his Confederate major-turned-vampire storyline as a flashback! i can’t wait for some proper Jasper back-story. Eh-I guess I can suffer through Rosalie’s, too.
@movingtoforks…what a spoiler! A good spoiler! I’m glad they’re bringing Jasper’s story into it, personally I think everyone’s story should be in it and the movie should be very long!
Just read that we are getting a Royce King II, so getting Rosalies back story after all! So glad for reasons mentioned above!

JAG–which fave scene of yours did they cut from New Moon??? since the movie is nearly in the can already, you can tell us. pretty please? Eclipse is, hands down, my absolute fave of the *finished* books (bc Midnight Sun clearly would have been the best overall). and the leg hitch scene is my favorite in all of Eclipse – but BTW it is earlier in the book – when Edward first buys the giant bed after he has Alice kidnap Bella (and Bella runs to LaPush and then Jacob tells her he would rather see her dead than a vampire) and Edward is “all braced for the wrath that would put grizzlies to shame” and instead he and bella have their sexiest sexy times yet in the series. yeah, i’ve read that chapter about a billion times.
but until Compromises it is hands-down the best.
honestly, i don’t know how they’re going to put all the scenes from Eclipse that we need into one book. everyone is wondering how BD can possibly be one movie, but it’s Eclipse that i’m worried about.

I have a permanent bookmark at that chapter for Robward “fixes”. I was worried after reading a cargo plane amount of FF that the books would be way too tame to hold my interest, but no! Edward grabbing hair and rolling around with his dark eyes works…
Eclipse is my favorite book as well. New Moon my second. I have nothing to add, it’s all been said in the post and replys. I jus BEG that they make eclipse gooood! I’m a little worried, because of David Slade. Hope he proves me wrong..

Heidi….I have the same fears about David Slade. I just have this strange feeling that he doesn’t get it! I’d like to see another woman director (not Catherine), who is a little more “cutting edge.” Any suggestions????

I really loved in Breaking Dawn after her “change” that she whipped his ass at hunting too. LOL It was kind of a liberated thing. I liked it a lot. It turned Roward on too. Making him more riled up in bed. I also loved their little “cottage”. The closets filled with clothes that Alice picked out for Bella. Oh I just loved that book. sigh. It was like climaxing FINALLY. oops, I think I mentioned that…LOL
Funny how I remember SO MUCH of Breaking Dawn and so little of Eclipse and I like romance too, not just gettin it on. LOL I may have to go check out Eclipse again….

JAG you pretty much mentioned all the bits i would love to see in the film eclipse is my favourite book too,although when i read it i have a strong urge to slap bella,jake and edward they drive me crazy in it.especially bella and jake.
i agree though i think a lot is going to have to be left out due to time constraints.
and i was also gutted they left blood typing out of twilight.and rob i love you i think you are amazing as edward but sweetie you play him way too dark lets have some of edward’s humour for eclipse please.
JAG, I completely agree with all the scenes that you mentioned in your post. They are must-haves and hopefully *fingers crossed* will make it into the film. There is 1 other scene that I’d like to see that no one has yet mentioned…..
1. The conversation between Edward and Bella right before the fight sequence. It starts with Edward telling Bella that Jacob tricked her into kissing him and turns into Edward telling Bella that he’s not going to make her chose between them. Bella wants Edward to make her forget Jacob and fight back. Bella says to Edward….
“Don’t start with the noble self-sacrifice now! Fight!”
and a bit later says:
“Make me forget how awful I am. Make me forget him. Make me forget my own name. Fight back!”
Obviously a lot more to it, but you understand. That is such a raw, emotional scene. I held my breath during the 3 pages of that scene the first time I read the book.
I agree with @Tiffanized’s comment above the scene in chapter 27, in the meadow and oh please gawd, let them include the look that Edward gives Bella when she tells him she doesn’t want to do “this” now…….

JAG, EPIC post yet again. I am with you on all your choices. I would add one, where Bella asks Edward not to fight, to stay with her, or bring her with him. She thought she was being so selfish, because he was “essential to her survival.”
And I sooo want to see when he lifts her to the counter so she can kiss him without having to reach up. “I know you think that I have some kind of perfect, unyielding self-control, but that’s not actually the case.” GAH!
They just have to get this movie right. This was my favorite besides Twilight/Midnight Sun. I freakin LOVED Midnight Sun. Really showed you how hard it was for Edward. I too was soooo pissed it ended before the meadow scene!! ARGH! SM has to finish it!!
Oh and as for the movie twilight. When I got my DVD and saw the deleted and extended scenes, I was like “SERIOUSLY????” WTF!!! they were like, the MOST important scenes!!! Why on earth would you cut them? they would have added what, like 5 minutes to the movie???? Lost a lot of respect for CH after that. And we won’t even go into no “I love you”s and kissing, or the blood typing scene. Or why the fuck the conversation in the car “it doesn’t matter” had to be moved to the forest. Sigh.

So much was left out of Twilight, I don’t know what she was thinking, srsly. I wonder what made her decide to omit the conversation in the car and replace in with the forest? and the first time I saw the movie, I was waiting on the edge of my damn seat for the “I love you’s” that never happened. So disappointed about that not happening.
My Favorite chapters in Eclipse are definitely “Fire & Ice” and “Compromise”, so I am looking forward to seeing those scenes in the movie. I will be really pissed if they make the movie too PG-13, and not have them go into detail about Jacob’s fantasies in the tent, or especially the whole makeout scene with the leg hitch, because I think that the (few) people who haven’t read the book need those scenes to understand the sexual tension.

I hope they have more sense with Eclipse that they did with Twilight. The meadow scene in the movie was a crime-they destroyed the most important and memorable scene in the book.
I don’t care if the movie is five hours long-I hope there’s a better sense of what’s really important this time around. With Twilight you didn’t get the essence of the book-intense, first time love, and B&E trying to work through all the complications their relationship entailed. The Q&A session in Bella’s room, where she awkwardly broaches the subject of her & Edward having sex-how could they have left that out?? I could go on…
Also I was dissappointed about many scenes in the Twilight Movie. But I think I read somewhere that the script for Eclipse was supposted to be closer to the original text…Hope so…
I hope and I think we will see some of our favourite scenes as they aren’t really too much for younger fans…I mean, the kissing scene in the Twilight movie already was a lot hotter than how I had imagined it in the book, so…;-))

I am also looking forward to Eclipse. I think it’s over all the most romantic of the series (many will argue BD, but it is more concentrated in a few areas in BD). It’s also a turning-point for Bella and Edward’s relationship. She has known that she wants him forever, but she’s not fully committed to him until the end of Eclipse. She has her love for Jacob to sort out, and she finally lets Jake know, once and for all, that she’s chosen Edward. Instead of feeling herself forced into her future, she’s chosen it willingly. She’s chosen Edward above all else!

I’m surprised how many people on this thread said that Eclipse was their favorite book – it is mine too! Somehow, I thought is was not that popular.
I love the interaction between Bella & Edward in this book the best. He is less tortured than in the rest of the series. Not that tortured Edward isn’t a huge turn on – but smiling Edward is the best! (like how he looks in “let me try something”)
Of course, the tent is my number one scene I’m looking forward to. OK – tied for number one with the leg hitch/proposal in his room. But I’d also like to see the scene when he gives her the helmet and tells her how sexy she looks.
