We here are RAoR worship Rob at the church of St Mattress as you know (Wedesday’s post is a good example)but we don’t just perv after his AssCandy & his RobnanaNutMuffin we adore his talent…
So I was lying in bed the other night thinking about Rob, and I started to wonder what’s happening with his music. Before all this TwiMania kicked in, Rob was a passionate musician playing open mics and composing and jamming with his friends. Since he cant go anywhere without being papped & screeched at by crazyAss adoring fangirls that’s pretty much ended.
I also realised that I haven’t seen him travelling with his guitar lately until Wednesday…lookey lookey what I found…Keep in mind this is a scene for Remember Me but it’s still nice to see Rob with a guitar. *le sigh*
BIG NEWS: Anyway, there is a website that is confirming that Rob will be on the New Moon soundtrack.
“It has not been confirmed as to what track it will be, or even if it’s one of Pattinson’s old tracks or something new, but Summit confirmed today that Robert Pattinson will perform one of the songs in the upcoming Twilight: New Moon.
Pattinson performed “Never Think” on the original Twilight soundtrack, and fans could not get enough. Summit, as well as Atlantic (the label) have had endless requests for a new Rob track.” The Tracking Board, June 24, 2009
I was not able to find any confirmation from Summit so I’m not 100% sure how accurate this is, if you find any further evidence please link us. Fingers crossed it is the truth.
Another Rumour, Rob has written 2 songs for the Remember Me soundtrack but he won’t be singing them BOOO. My source for this bit of gossip has since disappeared so once again…unconfirmed.

I think it would be sad if Rob gave up acting, because I think he has a natural gift. Having said that, I too hear the passion and joy in his music and can’t say I’d be unhappy if he chose to follow that career path instead.
I guess if I let mother in me speak I’d have to tell Rob – The only person who can make you happy is you. Be true to who you are and remember you can always change jobs if you discover you don’t like or no longer enjoy the one you have.

I think of acting as Robs job and believe me I lurve watching him…hence my scratched up already freezing twi dvd LOL, but I think music is where he finds a kind of peace. I also don’t think he has the confidence in his singing at this stage of his life to pursue it further. Maybe in a few years.

I’ve noticed in several of his interviews he seems to think if he does music now he will be riding on the tails of someone elses success. The one he did with Artist on Artist sums up his feelings pretty well. I too hope he will come full circle and returns to his music in a few years.
Oh and i totally agree with you about the whole him quitting acting and doing music thing…contentment in his singing & I feel it too. And he has the sexiest voice ever.

Okay, this will NOT be my normal AS MUCH post.
His voice…….GUH, his voice makes me swoon hardcore-like! The passion in his vocals just oozes from the speakers as it falls from his lips. Even when he’s singing about heartbreak, it is filled with sensuality & sexiness. Hearing him sing brings out goosebumps and makes me pant harder than almost any picture. Picturing him getting into his music, just…..fuck me, it’s just hot! It’s RAW, PURE, SEXUALITY AT IT’S FINEST! He truly seems happy & content with life when he’s able to play. You can just tell when he’s being his musical self that he’s in his element. It’s his outlet to portray everything he’s feeling.

Call me paranoid, but one day soon I think he could walk away from acting because he has always said that he would be content just playing piano in a bar. I don’t want him to go…I would miss him so if he did.
But I would really and honestly feel like I lost something personal if he stopped making music. I hated so many things in Twilight, even his appearance, but when I heard Let me sign for the first time I cried in the theatre. It was so emotional and powerful and raw. I came home and googled to see who it was. I was so surprised that it was him.
I could lose a lot of things in life except my family, friends and health. Live in a smaller house if I have to, drive an ordinary car. Those things I can lose. But my soul will wither and die without music. I love music. I listen to it wherever I can. When I work, when I read, even in the shower. And through the years I’ve listened to a lot of people as I have ecclectic taste.
And Rob is on top or if not close in my top 10. In this age of manufactured music, his voice is so mature and so full of angst. It tugs at you and makes you feel. And he writes too and he composes. I would love an album from him.
I am thinking of writing an email to underground films to make Rob sing a song in RM. Especially at the end. I think you know where JAG. Oh so appropriate IMO.
In the script there is a guitar reference. Tyler is not supposed to play well or something, but Rob having the guitar gave me hope. That there is a scene of him playing and singing.
I would gladly stop fantasizing though it kills me to say this and love him only for his music if he ever decides to do that only.
Just don’t stop making music Rob. I would honestly feel a big personal loss if you do.

Like I said before I hated a lot of things in Twilight including the directing. But I will be grateful to Catherine Hardwicke for literally forcing Rob when he was reluctant to record anything, let alone ‘Let me sign’ and for Nikki Reed for supposedly going behind Rob and recording and showing his impromptu jam sessions to Catherine. Some people may say devious of her, but I am grateful to her. Because of them we are aware of his amazing talent. So thank you Nikki and Catherine.

As for Rob’s future career plans, I would not be surprised if he gave up acting in 5-10 years and moved into the director role. I think it would allow him more freedom to express himself. Hopefully we won’t have to wait that long for an album!

I swear… every single time I watch that footage of him singing I Was Broken, I tear up a little. Just a tiny bit, nobody else can tell, but my eyes prickle for minutes before I can blink it away. That’s not even my favorite of his songs, but there is just something so magnetic and raw but oh so beautiful about how he is singing there. I am just heartsick that nobody got better footage of it.
I’d really love to see him sing at the piano. Fuckhawt overload, for sure. I can watch him play all day, but slap a mic in front of him and let him go, dammit!

Thank you for the wonderful post today and JAG I have been thinking about him doing just music for a while now. I am sure music is his life and everytime I watch him perform (like in your video above) I feel the music comes from his heart. There is so much crap out there, which is called music, I just cannot listen to………..I am sure he is made to be a musician and not an actor, just too sensitive.
I read somewhere on the i-net that after he “finishes” doing Edward he wants to go back to London to the life he hade before. This would also mean people hunting him down like an animal.

OMG JAG, “I’ll be your lover too” has been on my playlist since the Twilight movie came out. Rob’s version is actually better that van Morrison’s, he has more emotion in his voice. It is so beautiful. Teh perfect song for a wedding. Wouldn’t it be f*cking mind-blowing if he were in your bedroom with nothing on but his guitar singing that song…? *oups, spaced out at work

OK so here is one of the things I find so fascinating about Rob.
JAG I agree with you.. he could walk away from films and just work on music and whether he became a huge success or just played small venues I’d watch, I’d listen.. and I’d love.
I have read various posts inquiring something to the effect “What is it about Rob?” …. and one common thread I have read through those posts is that if he were just a guy on the street, not famous movie star guy, just a guy, that most wouldn’t notice him.
I have a difference of opinion. First off.. If I were in Central Park, or Washington Square Park and I saw him, sitting on a bench with his bike….. for example : )…. I would totally take a second and third look.. cause let’s face it.. talent aside… as you have mentioned many many times, the man is just “f*ckhawt”. I mean “One stop, got me hot makin’ all the panties drop” hawt! (Sorry don’t mean to treat him like man-meat… ok I kinda do)
OK.. but aside from that, there seems to be an aura, if you will, an energy that surrounds him… draws you in and makes you want to know more about him. In a crowded room, even if he were sitting in a corner by himself just a regular guy, I would notice him.
So this long post really is just leading me to say.. I’m glad he’s in movies, because it has brought him into my life, something the never would have happened otherwise. He’s a unique individual, who feels he offers nothing special, yet offers nothing but special things : )
So Rob, please act, sing, paint, read, write, compose, laugh, be young, enjoy your life.. no matter what happens, I will want to know, I will want to see, I will look forward to it, whatever “it” may be.
OK so see what happens when we put the perving passports away! Serious stuff.. now, just so I’m completely truthful.. I’m going back to look at the Central Park Pics and drool, cause the man, sitting on a bronze statue with all the green behind him.. MAGIC.. f*ckhawt MAGIC : ) *SIGH*
Well said… I totally agree… cuz I *know* he’d catch MY eye as well… not just cuz he’s so hot, but I *am* a sucker for the musicians (especially guitar players) so that alone, even if he were to be a more average-looking joe, would catch my eye.
Case in point… was chatting with my friend on Yahell and sent her a link to his pic and she was like, “I can see why you like him so much, he’s TOTALLY your type!” and this friend is NOT a Rob fan (I know, I know, they DO exist… I mean, she doesn’t DISLIKE him, she’s just not familiar with the beauty that is Rob yet… I’m working on her, though… maybe I should send her some of his music, she’s a music lover as well so she might dig his tunes… hmmmm….)
Sorry for the digression, I’m good at that… anyway…
Back to the point…
But he IS a f*ckhawt man… so the fact that he’s musical is just a big bonus in my eyes lol…

I sent her the Vanity Fair interview on youtube you know the one with the woman talking and he’s looking right at the camera like she had it in the middle of her face the entire time so he was looking right in it and he’s wearing the white or could be cream colored shirt and kept picking up the empty coke bottle to drink from it… *SIGH* I love that one : ) anyway and *POOF* she was hooked, totally saw it. Your friend needs the package, you must immediately immerse your friend in all things ROB so she sees….. wait… never mind… one less to worry about : )

I haven’t heard a ton of his music so thanks for the videos (I’ll check them out when not at work) but I love that his fave is Van Morrison. I, too, own all of his music and have since Rob was still in grade school
That tidbit about NM soundtrack is by far the best news i’ve heard today…
I could lay at his feet and listen to him play guitar/piano/sing for the rest of my life and be completely content.

And JAG, you picked my personal favorite as today’s soundtrack!! “I’ll Be Your Lover Too”…all the lyrics are so swoony and his voice is just incredible! I’m also a big Van Morrison fan, ever since I was a kid. I too love the little giggle at the end, so RealRob. I just love the fact that he can laugh at himself so easily. That is definitely a British gift. My favorite studio track is also “Let Me Sign.” He has such power & passion in his voice. It is heartbreaking and so perfect for that point in the movie. *le sigh*
I’ve said it a million times & I’ll say it a million more…I wouldn’t give a damn if he quit acting forever as long as he never ever stops making music & sharing it with the world. I hope someday he’ll perform his music live and I get the chance to see it. I am insanely jealous of those lucky few who have gotten to see him live, even the ones who had NO idea at the time, and maybe even now, what they got to experience. Lucky gits!
