So I wasn’t going to blog about this but since the script has officially leaked I will. I have to say if you can hold off reading it, you really should, I wish I did.
Robert Pattinson plays Tyler in Remember Me
I’ve had the script for Remember Me/Memoirs for a while and I went ahead and read it last week.
It was such a powerful script that I feel compelled to blog about it. There won’t be any plot spoilers in here at all, I promise. I will however be talking about characters, actors and their roles so beware. If you’ve ever read a script before, you know it’s all about dialog, camera shots, scenes, angles. There are almost no visual cues like you find in a book, no real detailed descriptions of scenery and surroundings. It’s up to the cinematographer to add the details. Take this script add the visuals and this could seriously result in some accolades, and I’m not saying this because Rob is starring in this believe me.
This script and this story are amazing, I am so incredibly proud of Rob for choosing to do this project I’m practically bursting. I don’t want to give it away but I ran the gamut of emotions while reading it… ALL of the emotions. It’s took me a few days for it all to sink in…it’s such a simple random story about intertwined families, relationships told in such a poignant way with such a startling ending.
I finished the script really evaluating what is important in life, it truly truly moved me. It really makes me wonder what Rob thought when he was done reading it. I can see how he may have felt compelled to bring this script to life.

In Remember Me, Robert Pattinson plays Tyler, a character who (once described) is very close to real Rob. A jeans and t-shirt college guy 23 years old…

Seriously, NEW MOON is nothing compared to this. Remember Me will catapult Robert Pattinson out of the TwiSaga bubble & into the category of mainstream lead actor. Will there be nominations and awards, there really could be. It’s that good.
If the studio thinks it’s Award worthy, they will most likely do a limited release into theatres into December in order to qualify it for the 2010 Awards season.
Remember Me starring Robert Pattinson will be released into theatres on February 12, 2010.

I DEFINITELY AGREE THAT THIS MOVIE WILL BREAK THE ” TWILIGHT” STIGMA ATTACHED TO ROB’S NAME. THE EMOTIONS IF PLAYED RIGHT WILL PROVE TO BE AWARD WINNING MATERIAL. I’M SO ANXIOUS TO SEE THIS ON FILM. I FOUND MYSELF GETTING CAUGHT UP IN THE EMOTIONS OF EACH CHARACTER. I JUST HOPE THAT THEY KEEP THE SCRIPT AS CLOSE TO THE ONE ONLINE AS POSSIBLE AS IT WOULD BE A TRULY MOVING AND EMOTIONAL FILM.
I found this particular piece moving as well. It would definitely be a movie-to-see even without Rob being Tyler. Now, Rob is the epitome of Tyler to me. If I hadn’t known Rob was portraying him, I still would have definitely pictured someone very similar to Rob’s appearance. I’m equally excited about all the small spoilers you listed in your little portion above. I know if some particular ones don’t make it into the movie, I’ll be a little hurt. I already have my favorite scenes.
I cannot begin to explain how important the supportive casting is for this movie. If they do it well, this movie will definitely win awards. I will say that I loved Emilie de Ravin in Lost. She wasn’t who I had pictured when imagining Ally’s character, but I know she can act, so I will reserve my judgment. Aidan is also a key character. I will be thoroughly pissed if they don’t make a wise choice for him.
I can’t say much else except for the fact that I’m extremely excited for this movie. Rob will be incredible and this is exactly the type of role and movie lead he needs to show that he isn’t some tweeny, heart-throb movie guy. I truly feel like this role will catapult his stardom to a whole new level. I also believe that Rob deserves everything this movie will provide him with…. good luck, Rob.
Oh, but I’m proud that I was forewarned before seeing it in theaters. The are reports about our script being altered so if that’s true, we will still be somewhat surprised. Even though I’ve read the script, I don’t feel that it will take away from the movie experience at all.

I am very excited about Remember me. It seems like something that would actually show Rob acting. Certain scenes in Twilight I could see Rob’s acting shine through. Like in the Hospital scene. made me cry.

I think this movie has the potential to be excellent…but only time will tell.
Have you been reading the recent synopsis about the movie that has popped up on a few websites and I think was even part of Summit’s statement…? It involves a very significant plot detail about his brother which seems to imply that they changed the script immensely from what we read. I don’t think the ending would be quite as shocking if they change this detail and I would be really upset about that. That is a lot of the reason the story stays with you…
I noticed that as well. That would change the entire premise of the movie which would be EPIC FAIL!
I completely agree!!! That is all that I have been worrying about since I read that synopsis!! How oh how could they do that? I really hope that it’s just a bunch of bull to throw off the folks who’ve gotten ahold of the script. I remember that the same thing happened when X3 came out. (yes, I am a huge XMen freak, but that one was HORRIBLE!)
Anyway, when that script was leaked, all of a sudden there were reports about how it wasn’t going to be anything like that at all and it had only been one of multiple story ideas they’d been toying with. Well, wouldn’t you know… it was IDENTICAL to what I read online. Unfortunately. (I had been THRILLED at their claims of a different script)
But in this case, I think it would do a serious injustice to the story to change the one major memorable thing about the plot. I like it all, it’s humorous and touching and heartfelt, but the rest of it runs the risk of being lumped in with any other RomCom Dramedy. This one thing is what absolutely makes this movie.
I agree… EPIC FAIL if they lose it.
Morning! I hadn’t heard about the leak, but we all know that nothing is sacred…for long.
I, too, am excited about “Remember Me” and all that it could potentially hold for Rob’s star status. He has all the qualities to be a bright and shining star in Hollywood. From all of his films that I have seen (little ashes being the latest), I have to say that I can’t wait to stuff a GIANT plug into the critics’ mouth and scream out “I told you so”!!!
To anyone and everyone saying that Rob is nothing more than a pretty boy that is banking off of Twilight will eat their own words and I, for one, am looking forward to that day…waiting and ready to smirk.
Rob, we love you just the way you are…keep choosing the script JUST because it speaks to you and NOT just because someone says it will be a good career move for you.
Be yourself…for yourself. Enjoy life and living it. Smile at the hundreds of bastards taking your photograph, knowing how the ladies (here especially) love to see the REAL you…who we all fell in love with…

Not so sure that script is accurate anymore cause every description of the movie of the movie I have read doesn’t match the script I read. Maybe they changed it maybe not. I know there were alot of revisions done. the script I read was on scriptshadow so someone let me know if thats wrong. The main characters are the same but there seem to be some big differences in the plot lines. If someone has a link to the real leaked script let me know please.
I read it last week and what a powerful story it is. The kind that stays with you a long time after you’ve finished it.
I won’t say more because I would end up giving spoilers which I don’t want to do.

I’m with you WTM…..I too am more of a visual person so although I love to read the books, it’s the movies I get more excited about.
I think that if a script doesn’t have some of the visual setup that a book would have, my imagination would not be able to fill in the blanks appropriately. So I’ll just wait for the movie
I’m so, so, so excited to see this! I haven’t read the script and, as of right now, have no plans to, but this is exactly the kind of role that HHH needs to break out from the TwiSaga. I want him to have a long career and I really believe that this is the kind of movie that will do it for him.

Seriously can’t wait to see this film. The script was amazing, and hopefully the main plot points don’t change with a re-write.
I’m so excited that our Rob is going to be able to play this role. It’s a fairly versatile part that I believe will truly showcase his acting abilities. I really don’t want him to end up being typecast. But, I believe that by him taking on projects like this, it will help in that regard.

Please make him look better. Do not put more make up on him than his co-star especially if it is a woman. I will have to write a few letters to someone in Summit and probably the wardrobe department because they seem to be run by blind people if this does not happen.
Oh, and spend some money Summit on hiring proper make up people. Don’t ever use the people who were on Twilight. Hire the people who worked on New Moon.

Mmmmm, from the little bits I got from this, it seems to be a great movie.. and the cast so far amazing; Variety published that Emilie de Raven will play Tayler´s love interest, Pierce Brosnan his father, Lena Olins is negotiating to play his mother, Chris Cooper will play Ally´s father, no words on who is going to play Aidan or Caroline.
I read the review of the script from specialist, saying it was very good, then I got the script, but I haven´t read it because it is the script for Memoirs, and from the description of the plot in Variety it seems that with the re writing, the Remember Me script changed significantly from the other one, I thought by comments made by Robert himself that they re wrote aspect of his character, that they approached Tayler more to Rob´s own personality, but is seems it is changed more than that, so I haven´t read the script I got, because I´m afraid I will like it too much and if the movie will be far from it, I don’t want to feel sort of disappointed after, even though I would enjoy it just for the fact that Rob is in it. Does someone has the new script?
I wish this will be the exact vehicle to catapult Robert as much more than “the kid from Twilight”.. he is a good actor with potential to greatness, I hope this will aloud to show it.
I agree with all of you. I’m so excited to see Rob play this role. I’m really happy they chose Emilie, loved her on Roswell and Lost. They’ll make a super hot onscreen duo. This can really be THE ROLE for Rob. The excitement is bursting out of me.

I too liked her on Roswell! I didn’t like that she was sent to Earth to split up Liz and Max but I liked HER nonetheless.

Jason Behr and Shiri Appleby were my Edward and Bella of the late 90s. Their chemistry was AMAZING. And granted it did piss me off about the whole destiny crap with Tess (De Ravine), him screwing her and getting her pregnant. LOL But she did do a good job with the bad direction her role was given. Her role could have been played out sooooo much better. I wanted her and Kyle to get together so bad!! when Kyle told her he sees her as a sister it pissed me the hell off. I think that was an epic fail. so was killing off Alex. I really wanted him and Isabel to be together. It made the ending of the 2nd season weird for me. I still download and watch episodes because I feel it’s one of the best dramas I’ve ever seen. The concept about alien/human hybrids was genius. But the last 2 seasons do NOT compare to the first. The first season and beginning of the 2nd were beautiful.
Hey Divinesally…..I am in TOTAL agreement with you! I LOVED Roswell! It is without a doubt one of my all time fav series. I bought all the seasons on DVD and love watching them over and over again. I too was heartbroken when they killed Alex off. If it weren’t for the fact that Colin Hanks asked to be let go so that he could go on to “bigger and better things” I truly believe that they would have put him and Isabelle together. I didn’t care much for Kyle…..too wishywashy for me but yes he and Tess would have made a good couple. Michael and Maria…..not only were they a funny funny couple but they were HOT! They totally were overshadowed by Liz and Max!! Max………mmmmmmm………..now he was effn HOT!!!!!!!

It comes out just in time for my birthday…what a wonderful present, sounds like a great movie, can’t wait, I still havn’t seen Little Ashes or How To Be they aren’t showing here *sniffles* I have no doubt that Rob will do great and I look forward to seeing him in a different role,
I also catch myself when watching movies thinking Rob could have done that better…I saw Easy virtue and he would have played the young British man soooo much better…

Anyway…it seems to me that Rob has A LOT of input on this movie – like Summit is really trying to keep him happy… (Smart Summit).
I mean how many people get to go to the screenwriters house to meet with her and then have the script completely rewritten so that the character is completely tailored to you?
This brings me to my point…
Tom Sturridge is in NYC with Rob right? Now this could be a friendly visit… (and I’m sure it is) BUT we all know how Rob has helped out his friends in the past (examples include fellow “Brit Packers” Sam Bradley, Marcus Foster and Bobby Long). Why not throw Tom in the mix???
I’m thinking Rob must have said something to the producers or casting agents. In my head it goes a little something like this…
“So we’re looking for someone to play Tyler’s best friend Aidan right? Well…it just so happens I have a best friend…and he’s an actor…his name is Tom…what do you think?”
I don’t know people…maybe it’s just me, but I just have a feeling that Tom is going to be playing Aidan. I mean they start filming in a few days right? and NO Aidan??? I doubt it. I really think they just aren’t releasing it yet, but only time will tell I guess…

I wasn’t really excited about Remember Me–another romance story . . . but after reading your post, I am excited now. There is a lot more to the film than I anticipated. I look forward to the family dynamics of it all especially. I find it intriguing that Pierce Brosnan (love him) will play his father.
I love Rob in Twilight,The Haunted Airman and his smaller films; he just transforms himself into his eclectic characters. He’s a versatile actor. And I like how you stated that the love scenes will be more suggestive than graphic. Those scenes might be in competition for New Moon kissing scenes for MTV Best Kiss Award.
But this is good for Rob. We will see him in a different film beyond the Twilight saga. I am looking forward to Bel Ami and his film with Madeline Stowe and Hugh Jackman. Rob as a Comanche warrior, wow. He’s going to blow everyone away.

I knew Emilie during the Roswell time – I was one of the hardcore fans who gave Roswell parties and organized the charity stuff and I met all of the Roswell people. Brendan and Emilie were the two I knew best and she is a great actress!! I love her! I’m jealous she is going to get to kiss Rob *cry* I want to kiss Rob!! LOL
